I like that they make organic beans. It has a pleasant taste. Although it is pleasant, it doesn’t satisfy my coffee palate. If you like a very mild chocolaty coffee, this is for you. I gave it 4 stars because it isn’t bitter and some folks like weak coffee. The price is fair as well.

I tried this stuff and, speaking a bit hyperbolically, it was awful. I hot brewed it in a French press, fresh ground with a burr grinder, distilled water, my usual routine. Honestly, it was very acidic and not tasty. Maybe, this is your thing, but it wasn’t mine. I should try that again and add to this review.
So, I put the bag in the fridge and kind of forgot about it until I was dialing in my cold brew game. I thought ‘if it’s no good, I’ll just hot brew my usual beans in the morning.’ The rest was pure Serendipity. This coffee is a miracle when cold brewed! It’s bright and refreshing, strong chocolate notes with some citrus flavors, it’s creamy and smooth. Be warned, it is high octane, but it is so delicious. This is my go-to cold brew, hands down. My coworkers all love it, but they say it makes them jittery.
If you don’t cold brew, you should, it’s actually really easy. Mine sits at room temp all day, into the fridge overnight, then French press in the AM. There are plenty of online guides to it. Again, distilled water helps bring out the flavor and I actually add a tiny pinch of sea salt which sweetens it a little. Love it.

I am an experienced Barista and Coffee Roaster with over 20 years of experience. I purchased this roast while on vacation.
To make it drinkable, I tried different grinds, water-to-grind ratios, and even water temps, but could not find a ratio that yielded the notes that this region is known. The sour, stale taste and smell prevailed.
I enjoy coffee, not coffee drinks so I don’t ever put anything in my hot coffee. I am after the flavor notes.
When I opened the bag, it smelled dank and presented many characteristics of old, stale coffee. There was no roast date, which is always a red flag when the Roaster has an extensive website and the brand presents itself as a small batch roaster and the languaging craft coffee roasters are known for. Not putting a Roast date is not consistent with this coffee culture! Buyer Beware!
The use-before date was May 2024. Some roasters stamp a date six months after the roast date and others twelve.
Since it was purchased during “Amazon Days,” in October 2023, I had hoped to get a very fresh roast because so many would be buying. Now, I wonder if my batch was roasted months in advance of this busy
event.
The coffee was salvaged by making cold brew using a 70-gram to 36-ounce ratio. This ratio is not a cold brew concentrate ratio.
After I made cold brew with this ratio, I promptly put it in the fridge to soak for 18 hours. Then I filtered it and served it over ice. It was still so tart that to make it palatable I tried a splash of milk but found that it needed a latte ratio and a splash of Maple Syrup to be enjoyable.
Thus, the coffee and “Mt Comfort” have been put on the “DO NOT BUY” page of of my Coffee Journal.

Its been hard to find an organic coffee that both my wife and I enjoy in our espresso machine. We have had problems in the past with burnt flavors, poor or inconsistent extraction and freshness problems. With Mt Comfort Peru Organic, we have found the best of all of these. Its organic, it. has a medium body and acidity, it pulls a shot very consistently meaning its roasted consistently. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that commonly I will get a lot of very small broken pieces and dust in the bag. I suggest they screen the coffee a bit more before they package it.
