5.0 out of 5 stars Keurig quality – especially for those who love iced coffees
We are really enjoying this new Keurig machine and our ability to make hot or iced coffee. The machine seems well engineered and looks nice. It takes up more counter space than an original Keurig machine (by about 1/3), and the reason is because it uses a water tank to cycle water and pump it through where the coffee is dispersed to dissipate the heat. When it is at its coolest (2 bars lit), the coffee feels cold in the cup, and feels like refrigerated water. When it only has 1 bar lit, it feels closer to room temperature.
To me this means that when it is coldest, it will melt the ice you put in the cup more slowly and you will have a stronger iced coffee.

One idiosyncrasy is that it must pump water through some of the cooling tubes to rinse them out and keep them clean, and that water ends up in the drip tray. It has a floating level that rises when it fills up to the point of needing to be emptied.

    Some other details:
The water reservoir that makes the coffee holds plenty of water. The water in the cooling tank gets filled up only once. This machine has 5 puncture holes instead of only one that puncture the k-cup so that it swirls more water around the coffee pod, allowing it to get more coffee flavor out. It has 6, 8, 10, and 12 ounce settings, as well as a “strong” button that makes the coffee stronger.

Something that we noticed is that if you always want the ability to have an iced coffee, there is a fan that runs all the time to cool the tank water. It isn’t terribly loud, but it is noticeable. But you can press a “quiet” button which turns off the fan. In this case, the iced coffee setting isn’t going to really cool your coffee much more than getting it close to room temp (which is much cooler than fresh brewed hot coffee). We plan to set it on quiet mode for the winter months when we don’t make any iced coffee.

This is a really great concept and a great looking and operating machine. For someone who loves iced coffee, or perhaps for an office setting, this would be an ideal option. However, if you rarely or never want to brew an iced coffee at home, you are better off getting a cheaper model without these features.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of great features but…
I’ve only made one cup of hot and one iced coffee so far but I am impressed. Two concerns, however: 1) Not having a grounded power plug (what with so much liquid involved), and 2) the amount of electricity that’s used since it’s on ALL the time. I understand that the amount used might be insignificant but it’s a wonder that I have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot & Cold brew in one machine!
    The chill:
There is a separate water reservoir in the back. You need to fill this first with about 100oz of water (they say about 1 1/2 of the hot water reservoir). I tried pouring the water from the hot water reservoir, but it was spilling so I switched to a pitcher. Once it’s loaded the fan kicks on and starts cooling the water. There is are two led lights that show how charged/cool the water is. The button that says quiet allows you to put the cooling fan in three different modes. The first mode chills the water the fastest, but it is a bit noisy. When you press the button a second time, it lowers the fan speed so it’s quieter. If you press it a third time, it will shut the fan off. Then I filled the hot reservoir.

Once you’ve loaded all the water, they ask you to run a rinse for the hot option and a second time for the cold option. And now you are ready to brew.

My husband had the first cup and was able to figure it out, it’s not that different from other Keurig machines. Open the lid, put a pod in, select hot or cold then the cup size and press the K. His cup of coffee was brewed as expected and just like our old Keurig.

I had the cold brew. The indicator showed that it wasn’t fully chilled, but it said you can still use it. My coffee came out cold. I was shocked. It tasted great. I didn’t even put ice in it. It wasn’t that hot out today so the cold was just perfect.

The instructions say that after the cold brew dispenses, the system will perform a rinse cycle to keep the system in proper operating condition. The instructions also indicated that you can just let the rinse cycle go directly into the drip tray. I was a bit skeptical about how much water was going to come out, so I put a cup there to catch the rinse water. I was surprised! It was just a tiny bit. The drip tray also has a float that will raise a red indicator showing the drip tray is full and needs to be emptied.

The machine size is deeper than my old Keurig, but I have it in a corner and it really didn’t make that much of a difference.

Overall, I’m extremely happy with this K Brew & Chill Keurig coffee machine and would definitely recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Keurig I have ever owned
This is hands down the best Keurig I have ever owned. This thing is amazing. There are so many things that are different about this one than any othere. Lets start with the basic K-Cup brewing a hot cup of coffee.

In the previous Keurigs I have owned, there is a single piercing needle that goes into the top of the K-Cup to dispense the water. That was all fine, but I noticed that the grounds on the outside edge of the K-Cup never got some water and so was not used. Well, they fixed that with this one. The brewer has FIVE needles! That’s right, 5 needles that dispense water through the whole K-Cup meaning you get a full brew out of that cup, and you can really tell the difference.

As for the cold brew? I am impressed. When I first got this I read the instructions and there is a “cool tank” that needs to be filled up in the back. Now my first thought is that it pulls from that tank to brew iced coffee and that would need to get re-filled all the time. But the bad part about it was that it is a PAIN to fill up. However, I was wrong. That cool tank is what cools the coffee that is being brewed. You only have to top off that tank like once a year. So it literally hot brews the coffee through the K-Cup, then takes that hot brew and runs it through some piping that goes through that cold tank to cool off the coffee. So what get out is cold un-diluted coffee into your cup. And it works like a champ. Is that not impressive?

    This is a GREAT product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious Hot or Cold Coffee Made Fast & Easy!
As a dedicated coffee lover, I’ve tried numerous brewing methods in search of the perfect cup. I previously owned a Keurig machine that I enjoyed the convenience of, but it didn’t have the chilled coffee option, so I was excited to try the Keurig K-Brew and Chill.

Its quick chill technology chills the coffee in three minutes or less, preventing the melting of ice that can water down coffee, and delivering iced coffee that’s as cold and flavorful as a barista’s creation in just a few minutes.

The multi stream technology ensures that every K-Cup pod is fully extracted, resulting in a rich and aromatic cup of coffee, whether hot or cold. I love the versatility of being able to brew both types of drinks with any K-Cup pod.

The strong brew setting is perfect for those who prefer a more intense flavor profile, and the 70 ounce reservoir makes it easy to brew large batches without the need for constant refilling. When it is time to refill it, the handle on the extra-large reservoir makes refilling it fast and easy.

If you’re a coffee enthusiast as I am, and are looking for a reliable and convenient brewing machine with the added bonus of chilled coffee, I highly recommend the Keurig K-Brew and Chill!

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective… could not make a single cup.
I was excited to review this, as I’m a huge coffee drinker! I plugged it in, read the directions carefully re: how to initially fill it with water and fire it up etc. Got the the part (see pic) where you “Brew your first cup” in the manual and… nothing. That large K never lit up. I re-read directions several times and tried different iterations of pushing buttons, but nothing worked. As you can see in my pic the green light came on, supposedly the water was chilling in the reservoir, but even after 12 hours of waiting, assuming that it why it didn’t work, it still was dead in the water. I obviously got a defective unit. Disappointing, as Keurig is a respected well known brand and I thought I had a winner here.

4.0 out of 5 stars It does make a cold coffee but it needs to be on constantly
I was really curious about how this machine brews cold coffee. According to the instructions, you need to add 11.5 cups of water to the chill tank and wait up to 6 hours for it to be ready. I think, it creates an ice block to cool the brewed coffee during the time. Initially, I was confused because I expected the coffee to cool instantly during brewing, without any need to prepare the chill tank. However, once the chill tank is ready, the machine brews cold coffee instantly, just like hot coffee.

The downside is that the machine needs to stay on constantly to keep the chill tank ready. You’ll hear a fan running continuously, and the back of the machine gets warm. As my pictures show, the water reservoir even gets condensation inside because of the warmth.

I usually only drink one or two cups a day, but the machine has to stay on all the time. If you drink coffee on a schedule, you could turn it on 6 hours ahead. You would think this would make more sense for an office setting where it would be used frequently. However, the instruction manual mentions that the machine produces less cold coffee after one brew, and you’ll have to wait to get coffee as cold as the first batch.

I’ve been using it for several days, and while I appreciate the convenience, I can’t help but feel uneasy about the constant electricity consumption for the moment I may want cold coffee.

5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite kitchen appliance
I didn’t realize how much I would love this Keurig K-Brew + Chill! At first I really didn’t know what I was doing. I put water in the reservoir in the back and nothing was happening. Of course, my son, Mr. Fix it Man made coffee late at night and it worked perfectly for him! He told me that you have to put water in carafe that sits in the front. None of the instructions mentioned or showed that. Once I did that it worked for me and I’ve been making hot and iced coffee and it literally takes less than 2 minutes. Super highly recommended!!

4.0 out of 5 stars REAL COLD BREW!!! But notably more energy used.
The media could not be loaded. I’m flabbergasted! They did it. They found a way to cool down the coffee without diluting it. I was skeptical about it. “Surely it wouldn’t come out cold.” I was thinking room temperature would be the best that could be expected, then perhaps add a big old glass of ice. But this actually comes out cold. It’s still good to poor the coffee into a little ice but, thankfully, not at the expense of diluting the drink.

Not necessarily a plug-n-play. Patience is certainly needed when initially plugging in. The fridge in back takes several hours to get the cold parts ready for use.

    I like:
    (1) the familiar Keurig layout. Easy to select exactly what you want the machine to do.
    (2) although larger, this unit is still mindful of counter space.
    (3) the “strong” setting and “multistream technology” do a wonderful job extracting the full flavor (even better than my previous unit).
    (4) the compressor and fan are pleasantly quiet. You can hear it operating, just not at an obnoxious level.
    (5) the name “K-Brew+Chill”. Maybe a missed opportunity here or maybe they’re dodging PR issues, but very close to saying “K-Brew&Chill”.

    I don’t like:
    (1) the reservoir is shaped big and round. Not as compact. Not as easy to pour water out.
    (2) the energy usage. There’s basically a mini freezer in the back. So, it needs to run a lot more than the usual coffee machine.
    (3) It fans out a lot of warm air (good in winter, not so good in summer).

    I am concerned about:
The cord does not contain a grounding wire. My previous Keurig was grounded. But this one, having more functions, is not grounded. It just makes me nervous knowing the amount of wattage that these machines play with.

If you love cold brew, you’ll enjoy this machine.
If you don’t drink cold brew very much, then it would be hard to justify the added machinery and cost.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cold but loud
The media could not be loaded. This Keurig looks great! It takes up more counter space than a traditional machine, but it does more, so that makes sense. I was very impressed that the cold beverages really are cold–I expected room temperature at best, and then I’d add ice. But no, they’re pretty chilly!

The downside to that is that the machine runs constantly to be ready for cold drinks. Since I’m more of an occasional consumer, this isn’t something I needed. I keep mine turned off or on the “quiet” mode to avoid the humming.
