5.0 out of 5 stars Bosch 800 vs Jura Z8 – So far, LOVE this Bosch We’re a family of coffee lovers that have been using higher end Jura espresso machines for over 15 years but after the last Jura Z8 stopped working at 3 years and they wanted over $500 to fix it, we decided to try this less expensive 800 series with some cooler features from Bosch, an established brand name. I also want to say I have not been paid or given a free machine to review and here’s our opinion after we’ve used for only a week . We’ll need to see how it holds up over time so I’ll update in 6 months.
PRO’s vs JURA – There are MANY!
– GREAT PRICE: Bought on prime day for $1299 which is almost 1/3 the price of a high-end Jura.
– BETTER TASTING COFFEE USING LESS BEANS: Coffee is a lot stronger and better tasting than our Z8; not sure how they do this! So far, we’re also using less beans. I think they do this double brewing which must save beans but doesn’t degrade the taste at all.
– NICE BIG BRIGHT DIGITAL SCREEN: No comparison to the Jura (although I know Jura is starting to go with better screens on expensive higher end models). LOVE the digital Bosch screen and how you can easily personalize your favorites. One of my favorite features was reading what each type of international coffee was and seeing where they came from then trying them out. As an example, the Americano is nothing we’ve tasted before. The darker coffee-infused foam is so cool and very, very tasty! I used to always have to use sweeteners but finding that the taste of the coffee drink alone is good enough. I also love how they have cold brew options.
– AVAILABLE APP: We’re a techie family, and to be honest, love anything with connectability. We haven’t tried a remote coffee yet, since we typically use milk, but like the option. The APP also has other yummy drinks. We can’t wait to try the espresso martini. Still diving into what else the app offers but the cool thing is, updates could bring newer options and drinks. I’m sure Jura will get this soon if they don’t already have it, but probably on more expensive models.
– NICE MILK TUBE: Having a place to hold your milk inlet tube on the machine is a nice touch (not on Jura). We decided not to get the model with the attached milk container since we are a family that uses different milk types: 1% milk, soy and almond, so didn’t make sense.
– MECHANISM’S EASY ACCESSIBILITY: Love the ability to pull out the inside mechanisms for cleaning if needed. On Jura, it is very difficult to clean the inside. You can’t even see the tampering piece which is one of the most important parts of the machine and what we think got clogged on our last jura.
– GOOD SIZE: Same exact size as our Jura Z8 so fits perfectly in the space.
– WARMING TRAY: Love the option (not on Jura), but not sure it keeps it that warm. We’ll need to try this out more.
– ADJUSTABLE SPOUT FOR TALLER GLASSES: Even though it states only 5-1/2 “ of space, fits tall glasses a little over 6”. This is about the same as Jura, so happy it was more than we expected.
– A LOT OF SPACE IN WATER RESERVOIR: Same as Jura so that was nice.
CON’s vs JURA – Keeping in mind that many are due to the lower price point and not enough of a con to lower my star rating.
– BOSCH IS NEW TO THIS MARKET: Although Bosch is a trusted brand name, they appear to be new in the high-end espresso machine market so only time will. Jura’s customer service is excellent, so we’ll have to see if Bosch’s is as well.
– INTERNAL & EXTERNAL PARTS ARE NOT AS HIGH END: Outside softer plastic covering could scratch easily. Bosch has softer plastics vs heavier plastic/metal pieces but that’s expected with such a big price difference. Time will tell if they hold up and how they look later.
– WARRANTY NOT AS GOOD: Jura is 2 years vs Bosch’s 1 year.
– SOME FEATURES NOT AUTOMATED: The hand selecting grind on top and having to submerse the filter yourself to get water inside before placement are not automated, but this is not that big of a deal since it’s a lesser price but wanted to mention it.
– PULL OUT WASTEWATER TRAY IS SMALLER: Need to empty more often which is slightly annoying. However, it is nice that the bean tray doesn’t sit right on top of the water tray like Jura. That created issues on our Jura.
– MILK ATTACHMENT KNOB MAY BE TOO FLIMSY: The knob on the machine for the milk inlet tube placement seems a little flimsy. We remove the tube and put back 3-4x a day so worried it could fail, but again, we’ll see.
– BEAN CONTAINER A LITTLE AWKWARD AND SEEMS SMALLER: Even though the bean capacity stated larger than our Jura Z8, it seems smaller. Jura’s is much easier to fill without obstacles like a screen that comes all the way to the top like Bosch’s and odd small spaces on the side to fill, but we are working around that.
– NOT AS MANY SENSORS AS JURA: doesn’t have all the bells and whistles with sensors, like when tops are off of the bean tray, drip tray and water reservoir, but I’m OK with this especially with the lower price tag.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Love Love My husband and I have spent HOURS over the past couple years researching automatic coffee machines but we were never willing to pull the trigger because of so many negative reviews for the Phillips and DeLonghi brands. If you’re gonna pay over a grand for a coffee machine, it better not have basic issues with things like leaking and temperature. Machine size and profile were also an issue for us. We decided to just wait it out, hoping something amazing would hit the market eventually. Well — IT HAS! This machine is exactly what we had hoped for and more. Other reviewers have hit most of the main points but after using this machine for over a month, my favorite parts, besides making the best coffee I’ve had from any machine, are 1) The amazing digital touch screen and prompts (very user-friendly), 2) the vast selection of drinks with detailed descriptions and customization options, 3) the self-cleaning functions 4) the milk feature 5) the large water container that is SUPER easy to remove and reattach without spillage, 6) the favorites menu feature, 7) the hot water option (electric tea kettle no longer needed!). You can slide the bean cover completely off — it isn’t attached — so you don’t have to worry as much about height space when filling the beans. I didn’t get the milk container and recommend that you don’t either — you just don’t need it. The connection hose is flexible and sturdy, brilliantly sits in the tray, and you can easily place it directly in a quart of milk to minimize having to clean an extra container or stash it in the fridge. It is a very sweet feature! (Note that the manual recommends you do NOT use anything with cream.) I initiate a cleaning cycle just for the milk system after every couple drinks for peace of mind (it’s only 2 minutes). I make espresso, coffee, lattes, cappuccino, macchiatos, and many other varieties. It’s super fun and easy to try them all! The only real negative for me is that you cannot create your own drink milk ratios. You can easily adjust them, but there are limitations. For example, the lowest milk ratio for a latte is 30% milk, which is still too much for me. And there is no other coffee drink option with less milk. I called support and they said Bosch may update this in the future, and with the handy digital app, I should automatically receive any software updates. SUPER NICE! In the mean time, I just add a shot of espresso to my latte and it’s a home run. The coffee temperature is indeed hot (129 deg F) which is a priority for us (slow brew is 158 deg F). Many other machines apparently fall short on that, but we were not disappointed! And you can adjust the temperature. The manual is sparse which was a surprise because there are some nice features that you have to discover on your own. For example, when you select a drink, you will get a customization screen, but then if you click on the drink name in that screen, it shows you a description of the drink… kinda important but not obvious. I didn’t find that kind of detailed info in the product description or on their website either. I called customer service once (about my milk ratio question), was connected to a real person quickly, was passed around a bit, but I eventually got to the right place and they were helpful. It was definitely nice to get real people. Slight learning curve on emptying the drip tray so be patient. Pull the whole thing out at once with your hand underneath to support the end and tilt it slightly toward you. When you get to the sink, tilt it away from you and the water pours out of the channel on the left side. Then just reinsert the whole piece — no need to take it apart unless you want to rinse it. So far, we are SUPER impressed, super happy, and so so glad we waited patiently for this beauty. I hope it continues to perform well because so far, it’s definitely worth its pretty penny!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it Really enjoying this machine. Makes assortment of great coffee drinks quickly and easily. Great espresso, Americano, straight coffee drinks and the included hose froths mill for cappuccino, lattes etc. Even makes cold brew. Expensive but worth it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn’t work out of the box. Defective product. Error Code E000E Unfortunately after taking all of that time to set-up the machine and clean out of the box, it didn’t work at all. This brand new machine gave an error code E000E repeatedly. Googled this code and called Bosch support but no technical support is available over the phone or chat. You must schedule a service call to repair a new machine never used straight from the box. We had no choice but to return it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use and needs little attention This coffee maker does a great job. I don’t have to get coffee ready the night before to have a fresh cup in the morning. Cleaning is easy and very little time to maintain this great machine.
It rinses before it shuts down and when started up. Grind is perfect and the combinations of drink is just right.
Highly recommend this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars It’s nice I like the coffee xl and the espresso shots. They’re good temperature and they taste good. The water drip tray does fill up fast and the coffee tray does too. Which I have to clean out more often. But it’s not a big deal. My one complaint is the milk doesn’t steam as hot as I’d like it too. I don’t know if it’s because the milk is supposed to be on the counter for a while but the coffee milk drinks taste room temperature. So I’ll try and see if that makes a difference. Other than that the coffee it makes is good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Automatic Coffee Machine I was very close to returning this coffee maker because when I opened it, it looked like a huge piece of black plastic, we didn’t have any black color appliances. However, the coffee maker works extremely well, beyond my expectations and I am glad I kept it. My wife loves how easy it is to make cappuccinos and lattes. For us, it’s worth it because it is truly fully automated, with multiple options to customize each type of coffee. Best coffee maker ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it! The media could not be loaded. Early returns in this product are epic. This machine has immaculate vibes. It is supremely easy to use this machine. The coffee it puts out is so well balanced I don’t even use sweetener anymore. It goes through a rinse cycle after each use, comes with descaling tablets too! I was so sick of drinking bitter coffee each morning and decided to invest in this. I did a lot of research into other units (Jura, Delonghi, etc) because once you decide to spend your hard earned money on this type of purchase you want to get it right. Happy to report I’m so happy with my decision. I also have other Bosch appliances and can say this manufacturer is world class, so that helped a lot in my final decision. The one con I have is the directions in the manual could have been better. I couldn’t get the drip tray out and pulled so hard I was scared I was breaking something. The manual was no help.

5.0 out of 5 stars Por donde empiezo?

Asked for a replacement and was told I could only return it for refund and repurchase it for $300 more since Prime days are over.

4.0 out of 5 stars I feel spoiled I love drinking coffee in almost all different forms and recipes. I own a regular coffee pot, an espresso machine, a hybrid pot/single use machine and worn out several single use machines, however, I have also struggled with making my own drinks taste like what I would pay big money for at the coffee shops. This machine takes the guess work out and makes it easy to switch between the different beverages without having to keep track of multiple parts and pieces.
Set up was relatively quick. I love that they provide a test strip to test your water and that the included filter has settings that you can set based on the quality of your water. It does note that filtered water is best, but tap water is fine as long as you are willing to clean it more often. The filter was simple to put in once I read the directions to see the included plastic piece to assist in pushing it into place in the thin water tank (I honestly thought I had huge hands until I re-read the instructions). I was able to connect quickly to the wifi and connect it to the Home Connect App.
The App is fairly user friendly. If you own multiple smart Bosch appliances, then this could really be a time saver for you. I like that I can start my next cuppa from the couch, or from the car, bedroom, wherever and have my drink ready for me when I want it. I do not have the Milk jar, so I would only be able to do the basic coffee or espresso drinks without milk for that, but still a great option. You can also add the app to your smartwatch, which opens a whole new set of possibilities.
The touch screen is very good quality and responsive. The photos are clear and it makes it easy to customize your drink (strength, how much milk, etc). It comes preloaded with classic standard drinks and then the coffee world menu has several more options, some of which I have never heard of but I look forward to trying. My daughter is thrilled to be able to make her fancy coffee drinks as well, but what I love the most about this machine is that I am not measuring grounds, cleaning out filters and other daily maintenance.
I also really like that the dispenser can be moved up and down to accomodate different cup sizes. I wish it was just a little bit taller and could fit my travel mugs, but they do not fit, and the tray underneath cannot be left out to accomodate the travel mugs because the machine requires that it be attached.
This machine is VERY expensive, and even the taxes I will pay on it are more than what I would normally want to spend on a coffee maker, however, Bosch has a great reputation for appliances and I feel like this machine will pay for itself rather quickly between the amount of time I am not spending filling and programming coffee machines or cleaning the espresso machine and looking for the different size portafilters.
This machines pretty much does everything except serve it to you. The only downsides are that you cannot keep milk in it as there is no refrigeration, it is large and takes up a good amount of counterspace if you don’t have a dedicated coffee bar and you can’t fit a travel mug in it. Everything else is great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply incredible After our old espresso machine died, we decided to try something more convenient. We already have a French press and pour-over funnels at home, so fancy schmancy coffee can be had any time. I’ve been totally spoiled by the super automatics at the office, and my wife also wanted to be able to make her own coffee without having to perform a whole ritual with a gooseneck kettle, grinder, and precise scale.
In comes this new-to-market Bosch VeroCafe 800. Setup was an absolute breeze. The box makes it seem monstrous, but it doesn’t actually take up that much space on the counter – about 19″ deep by 13″ wide. I installed the water filter into the tank, filled the tank up, and powered the machine on. The touchscreen walked me through testing our water quality (which of course is hard AF) and through making my first cup.
There are so many options available for different types of coffee drinks. The standards are very configurable for strength, milk ratio, and volume of the end product, while the drinks under the “Coffee World” tab are more of presets. Everything is primarily espresso-based, however I can tell by how long it takes to pull a shot and the pump noises that water pressure and temperature are factors handled by the brains inside, and that’s before you start changing the strength and aroma of the coffees you’re making. The grind size is set via a little knob where you pour in the beans, and it took me some time to find the right grind setting for my taller drip-style pours and for traditional espresso shots, lattes, etc. Once that was set, we were good to go for pretty much everything we could want to make.
This particular model doesn’t have a milk container, so you put the wand in your container of choice. I don’t want to cross contaminate, so I’ve figured out roughly how much milk each drink uses and pour what I need into a cup to draw from. Pro tip – if you like flavors, mix your syrup or flavored creamer with the milk instead of pouring directly into the cup!
Cleaning the machine is easy. The machine runs through a hot rinse/cleaning cycle not long making a drink, maybe 15 minutes later. I recommend putting a small cup underneath to catch the water from the spout otherwise you’ll have to empty the drip tray often. If I make a milk-based drink, I will rinse the wand thoroughly with hot water, and put in the dishwasher at night. Every other day, I dump the grounds from the tray into my compost, and once every week or two, I’ll remove the water tank to take the side off the machine and sweep out any grounds that have evaded the tray. There are two red magnetic trays inside to help guide the pucks to the tray but sometimes they don’t catch everything.
One more thing, you don’t have to connect this machine to WiFi to enjoy, but if you do, it will download extra drink recipes. The Cold Brew and Cold Brew Macchiato are worth the extra trouble of downloading an app!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love all the options I ordered this mostly to be able to make fancy hot chocolate but also impress my coffee-drinking friends. It’s a bit complicated to set up and you definitely want to make sure you have space for it. The milk you have to keep chilled or put away and take out every time you want milk, but I knew that when I ordered the device. Not too difficult to use, make sure you follow all instructions and clean it out thoroughly regularly. 5/5 would recommend if you’re looking for a fancy coffee maker with all the bells and whistles.
Nessie (verified owner) –
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Coffee Robot! The media could not be loaded. Wow! Where do I even start? I LOVE this machine! It’s more than a machine, it’s a robot that makes my coffee for me. We have started calling it the coffee robot at our house. At first, I was a bit bummed that it didn’t come with a milk container because I don’t usually drink espresso drinks without milk. I love the milk straw that you just stick into your container of milk! It’s genius! My old espresso machine had a milk container and I would constantly have to clean it and remove it and refrigerate it. I didn’t realize how much work that was until I got this coffee robot. I love that it’s just a straw that you pop off and rinse! Great Idea!
It has so many options of drinks it will make for you. My husband is a coffee snob…rightfully so because he is a chef and lived in Italy. He loves this robot! He loves that he can pick a drink and out comes a fantastic version of whatever he chose. Each drink is completely customizable to your taste. We buy beans from our favorite roaster. You definitely want good beans for this machine.
The touchscreen is nice and easy to use. I usually have a hard time with any touchscreen. It won’t sense my fingers. The power button sometimes takes me a couple of tries, but everything after that works great for me. It does, however, attract the pine pollen that is flying around in my area right now. Not a big deal though.
I am a pastry chef and so I leave early in the morning for work. I love that there is a light under the screen that lights up the dispenser and my cup! The dispenser moves up and down to accommodate different sized mugs. It’s great for people who have mug collections. Those little details show how much thought went into this machine. I also like that it rinses itself before you use it and when it turns itself off.
Just as a heads up, my machine arrived with some coffee grounds/dust in it. I was disappointed because I thought I had gotten a used machine until I got an email the next day saying that every machine is tested before it leaves the factory so coffee grounds are normal. I never even contacted them about it. Yay!
We have super hard water and I was so relieved to see it had water test strips and a filter. It was easy to set up and install. It even had different settings for how hard your water is tested to be.
The app is a nice addition too! My husband can make his coffee from the bed. I can’t because I use milk. But that is ok.
You can also adjust the grind size of the beans by moving a wheel in the bean compartment. So smart! This machine has actually cleared up space on my counter and consolidated my coffee station.
It’s a great little robot and I love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Its Like I Have a Barista in My Kitchen Okay, so I’m not some fancy coffee snob, but I know a good cup when I taste it. This Bosch VeroCafe thing is seriously impressive. It’s like having a barista in my kitchen, but without the attitude.
First off, this thing is loaded with options. You can choose from like 35 different coffee drinks, and it’s super easy to make them just the way you like. Want a stronger shot? No problem. Prefer a bigger cup? It’s got you covered. And the whole thing can be controlled from this app on your phone, which is kinda cool.
Now, about the coffee itself… holy moly. It’s like a symphony in a cup, smooth and rich with just the right amount of crema on top. And the machine grinds the beans fresh every time, so you get that amazing aroma filling your kitchen. It’s pure bliss, I tell ya.
I was worried it might be a pain to clean, but it turns out it practically cleans itself. Seriously, you just pop out a few parts, rinse them off, and you’re done. It’s a lifesaver for someone like me who hates doing dishes.
Look, if you’re serious about your coffee and want something that’s easy to use but delivers top-notch results, this is the machine for you. It’s a bit pricey, but trust me, it’s worth every penny. I haven’t been to a coffee shop since I got this thing, and honestly, I don’t miss it one bit.

5.0 out of 5 stars The excellence of this machine leaves me at a loss for words I honestly never knew coffee like this machine makes would ever be my daily experience. I have tried 8 or 9 different brands of Espresso machines. The results have run the gammet. This surpasses anything I have encountered to date. It’s like using a rotary phone one day and an IPhone 15 the next. I had to find my sweet spot, favorite flavor, aroma, temp and size.. I get that perfect, wonderful coffee every single time I hit the button….everytime. It is easy to set up and use, easy to clean and looks decievingly simple for what it does time after time. I would have said I would not spend this amount of money on a coffee machine…until now. I would do what ever I had to for as long as it took to purchase this wonderful machine. The brand is known for excellence and as far as I am concerned it made the bar so high I can’t imagine anyone topping it. It is quiet, sleek and worth every single dollar. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECCOMENDED….WOW. I am so grateful.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Is An Incredible Machine The Bosch TPU60501 800 Series VeroCafe Fully Automatic Espresso Machine is a game-changer for coffee lovers. Setting up the machine was a breeze, thanks to the clear instructions and intuitive design. The Home Connect feature allows me to control the machine from my phone, adding convenience to my morning routine. It offers an impressive variety of 36 coffee drinks, from espresso to lattes, ensuring there’s something for every coffee craving.
The machine’s sleek metallic silver design looks stylish in my kitchen, adding a touch of sophistication. The glass milk container is a great addition, making frothing easy and mess-free. The quality of the drinks is exceptional, with rich flavors and perfect textures. This machine has saved me countless trips to the coffee shop, saving both time and money. It’s an investment that pays off quickly, offering café-quality drinks at home. Highly recommend for anyone serious about their coffee.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting This is a nice machine. It was very easy to set up and initiate. After I set it up and connected to my Wi-Fi (optional), it went through a software update and then made me to go through the set-up process again, which was a bit annoying but not a huge deal. The menu is very easy to use, and the operation is easier, all I need to do is pour coffee beans, add water and follow the on-screen instructions based on the selections I have made. I like the option that I can customize drinks and save them as favorites for future use. It is a great espresso/coffee machine. Mine did not come with a milk jar; I would suggest you order the one with the milk jar unless you want to save a little bit and use your own milk container. This machine is fully automatic, so it does all the milk warming/frothing/mixing for you, which is great, unless you want to do some latte art on your drinks in which case you need a separate mike frothier. Would recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best coffee maker I have ever owned I’ll admit this absurdly priced machine isn’t for everyone. However, if you can I would recommend this one. The ability to bring out rich bold flavors from regular coffee is where this machine stands out in the crowd of coffee makers that exist. I’m by no means an aficionado of caffeinated beverages, but I can say that I have experienced flavors I’ve never tasted before in my morning cup of coffee.
This machine does the thinking for me, and never fails to brew the finest cups of coffee without requiring me to any of the work once required of me by other makers. The setup process was a breeze and there isn’t much to the routine maintenance. This thing is like having my own barista ready and willing to deliver to me exactly what I want without the cost or time of going to one of the local coffee shops.
This really is a masterpiece of technology. I really can’t say enough good things.

5.0 out of 5 stars Professional level coffee right at home This machine is awesome! It makes so many different types of coffee. Just a normal coffee tastes so much better with the water hardness filter, it’s very smooth. The glass milk container is easy to disconnect to store in your refrigerator between uses.
Only downside for me is my travel mug does not fit under it with the drip tray in. I can however, remover the drip tray grate and my mug will fit.
Cleanup is easy as this machine rinses itself and will tell you when to do a manual cleaning. The coffee grounds collect underneath and pulls out with the drip tray. The drip tray is easy to remove and the coffe ground collection separates for easy disposal of grounds and dumping of waste water.
