On arrival, the milk feeding tube adapter was missing. Called Bosch and they promised to research it and call me back when they found one, but never called back. Also, even on the “maximum” beverage temperature setting, drinks were never hot–even just hot water or espresso without milk. The app is terrible, and doesn’t work with Alexa as promised. Alexa can turn the machine on or off but ignores all other “supported” commands. Email to support for the app went unanswered.

Many years ago, I used to work in the cafe at Borders. I learned how to make all the various coffee drinks, many of which can get quite involved. I learned how to do that the hard way, by making hundreds and hundreds of these drinks manually.
This machine not only does most of that automatically for you, but it does it very well too! If you just want a double espresso for instance, making that manually takes a few minutes, and leaves you with some clean up work to boot. This machine does it in about 30 seconds after you just touch the screen. And it tastes perfect!
Sure you have to fill the reservoir with water and load up the hopper with beans every so often, but that’s it. You touch the screen and it makes you a double espresso just like that.
Sure, every couple days you might have to dump out the drip tray and the container where the used coffee grounds are ejected, but even that is very easy here. You just slide out the drip tray and tilt the back of it into the sink and the liquid drains out. Then you remove the tray where the used coffee grounds go and dump that into your trash or compost. You then just put the parts back together in slide the tray back into place.
The machine also self-cleans itself. When you turn it on it goes through a rinse cycle where it runs some water through the machine to clean it. When you turn it off, or if you just leave it on for too long, it will also go through its rinse cycle to clean itself before it shuts down. The water used in the rinse cycle just goes into your drip tray, where it will remain until you empty it. The machine also tells you when you need to empty the drip tray too.
When making drinks that require milk, you have two options. There is a milk intake area on the left side of the machine. You can put milk into the included milk container and attach that to the machine or you can just attach a part that has a hose that comes out of it and you can put that hose into your own container of milk if you wish. When done using the machine, you then remove the milk container or attachment and wash them.
This machine is incredible, but it’s certainly not cheap. It is very well built, and very impressive, but whether or not it is worth the price is subjective to you and how much use you will get out of it.

Being able to customize quantity (volume) and quality (aroma) allow you to get it to make it to your taste. Build quality is great. Milk options are endless as pre programmed drinks are already set up for you which can also customize to your liking. But you can also brew coffee and then froth or heat milk separately for truly custom options. All in all very good. The things I wish were better are: 1- when adding milk the customization is really the milk to froth ration not volume of milk. So initial drinks were too milky till we discovered that. 2- Though you can save your customizations you can only color code them and you cannot name them. I have several recipes for some of my beverages which are combinations of some of the programmed drinks. So I have 2 different cappuccino recipes and so I have to give them different colors where I which I could name them. 3- Temperature is a global setting so all drinks use the same temperature setting. Wish this was set per drink. 4- The stainless is a nice look but hard to keep looking clean just like all the other stainless appliances we own. Wish there was a black option. Except for this wish list – I would still recommend this machine. One thing to note, unlike almost every other super automatic espresso maker out there, there are no review videos. Almost like Bosch is controlling the narrative on this. The only video review I was able to find (other than the ones by Bosch) was one that was based not on someone who actually had the machine but one based on the content of the Bosch website. Just something I thought was odd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Saves you money at the coffee shop I am a Cafe Mocha addict. I get a tall hot mocha in a grande cup with extra whip every single time. That being said, I have been on a quest to find the perfect espresso machine to give me the same coffee I get at the store, mainly because the store is getting entirely too expensive for as often as I go. This if my 4th try at finding that machine and my search is over.
Comes very well packed. The instructions are pretty clear. You have to disassemble some parts to wash before you start brewing, and that made me a little nervous because you have to literally disassemble the brewing head with no pictures on how to reassemble it. Luckily, this machine is made for dummies. Every fits and snaps so easily that you know you have it right, and there is really only one way to assemble it. Comes with separate instructions for prepping the water filter and getting the right setting for your water hardness. The filter is supposed to be changed every 2 months, but the maker is supposed to tell you that. It also tells you when to empty out the drip/coffee grind drawer.
After washing all the parts, it is a plug and play (or drink). Comes with all sorts of options on the drinks, and the specialty coffees actually tell you more of what they are (like what in the world is a redeye??). The milk container works great for the steaming and foaming of milk. So far my fave is the machiatto late, which I put chocolate syrup in the cup first, stir it up when it’s done, add some whipped cream, and it’s delish. You’ll want to try all the coffee options right away. it even makes just a plain old cup of coffee.
The best thing about this machine is that it cleans itself. It rinses when you turn it on and off. What I didn’t realize is that it only uses whole coffee beans, so make sure you have those on hand when your machine is delivered. This adds so much more to the flavor and aroma. Speaking of aroma, it even gives you options on how strong you want to coffee, the aroma of it and you can alter the amount of milk. The touch screen is so easy to use and the app on your phone will give you other options (though this machine has so many already packed in, it will be a while before I get to that). Bottom line: This espresso machine is a winner!

I have spent a ton of money at Starbucks over the years and now it’s time to invest in myself! I was very excited to receive this fully automatic espresso machine and it’s even better than I could have imagined. Literally I could open my own coffee shop, it is that good!
It fits nicely underneath my cabinets. Overall it looks absolutely stunning! The stainless steel is nice, easy to clean. The bottom of the portion of the machine comes out and holds excess water and the coffee grounds. it’s completely automated and the machine is smart, will tell you everything, including when to empty the basin, when to add more water or espresso beans.
This machine takes true espresso beans, so I purchased a huge bag of Starbucks espresso beans from Sam’s Club. Perfect! The beans go into the top of the machine and holds a decent amount. The water container is on the right side of the machine, easy to refill, lid comes off the top but the entire container can be removed if needed. On the left side of the machine is where the milk container goes. I store mine in the fridge when it’s not needed.
There are so many options of coffee this machine can make. I’m fairly easy, just enjoy my Americano. However it has options for cappacino, slow pour, cafe latte, simple espresso just to name a few. Each option will allow individual changes like size and strength of brew. The coffee it makes it even better than what I pay for at Starbucks!
The machine itself looks quite high end. I’m so happy with this machine, if anyone comes over to my house, I now offer to make them a coffee of their choice. It also has the ability to be Wi-Fi enabled and there’s an app for it as well. Easy to download and connect to machine. It has the ability to be remote started. There’s also a feature to warm up the coffee cup as well. This machine has it all and more. It will not disappoint! I highly recommend this awesome Bosch VeroCafe Espresso machine. 10 Stars!!!!⭐️

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent machine. Connects with Home Connect, Alexa. I love this machine. I have had the beta version and now have the US version and it has been a game changer. I did find out last fall trying to do eggnog lattes and it is too thick for the steaming method and the engineers advised me as such. Other than that minor glitch it has been a great machine. Dark roasts are not my thing, I have a better palate and the molasses used in some commercial large batch roasters have stuck the milling plant ( grinder) and that is not a good thing. So the lighter and medium roasts work well and taste better and have more caffeine as well. Some earthy medium roasts can compare. The milk container and cup warmer are perfect. I also stay on top of the maintenance and it performs flawlessly. Highly suggest and this compares with other brands on the market. The models that do not have the milk attachment can get the stainless carafe and add with the tube supplied with it and that does your lattes .

I’ve been using this amazing fully automatic espresso/latte/coffee machine for several weeks now, making one delicious cup of coffee or cappuccino after another for myself and family members that tastes as good (actually better) than anything I’ve had from Starbucks or other retail coffee shops, and all with very little effort, and 99% consistency. Even though I haven’t changed the beans, flavorings or water that I’ve been using with my old machine, the difference in flavor is a huge improvement over my 5 year old Keurig coffee maker. I don’t know how they do it, but they do it well.
This coffee machine is beautiful, superbly designed in form and function, and super versatile. It looks great on my kitchen counter and makes me want to break out my barista apron when my family members are watching me prepare their delicious beverages. I think I’ll be getting a tip jar soon, hehe.
Kidding aside, this machine is a joy to use and very easy to use once you get past the short learning curve. The touch-screen color display menu is well laid out, thoughtful of function and a joy to use. You can start with a number of preset beverage choices and customize them to suit your tastes. Once you’ve nailed your preferences down, you can save them to your Favorites for quick and easy reuse.
Larger specialty beverage preparations (like 16oz cappuccinos, for example) require that you run two smaller-beverage preparations one after the other. Space is limited under the beverage dispenser, so if your final destination is a tall insulated coffee mug, you’ll need to prepare your beverage in a shallower container and transfer to the final container afterwards.
Setup of the machine takes some study and effort, but isn’t too difficult. Just take your time and you’ll get through the process with no problem. Once you see how well designed all the pieces are, you’ll come to appreciate how easy it is to refill and clean the machine on a regular basis. Longer period maintenance is also a breeze after you learn to do it the first time. This design of the parts and the cleaning process have all the qualities of a business-grade machine. Nothing finicky or troublesome. Nothing that will wear out or break easily. Nothing that doesn’t fit well. Nothing that can’t be cleaned or is bound to become uncleanable (like tiny seams, crevices, moulding, etc).
The choice of beverages are plentiful, ranging from milk/cream-based coffees, to basic coffees, to warm milk, foam milk, and even just hot water.
The grinding and coffee bean tray are great. Coffee beans are ground on-demand for each beverage preparation, ensuring the freshest grind you can get. The grind is very consistent, so you get a great yield from your beans and very good consistency from one preparation to the next.
Consumables (descaling and “detergent” tablets) are reasonably priced. Maintenance periods are reasonable as well, with option to skip the maintenance – but you’ll be reminded again the next time you go to brew something up, until you actually perform the menu-driven, menu-guided required maintenance.
The water tank holds about a pitcher full of water. I would have preferred a larger size, but it’s better this way I suppose since you don’t want your water going stale or growing bacteria.
I didn’t test the WiFi functions (remote brewing and such) beyond connecting the machine to my WiFi network, which it did flawlessly and now I get maintenance notifications on my phone. I suppose now I can also brew a cup of coffee just before I get home from work or from my bed when i wake up at random times in the morning using the internet. None of that appeals to me, so I never tested it, but I’m sure it will do a fine job of it. Just be sure nobody removes the cup from the machine, otherwise you’re going to have a big mess to clean up.
In summary, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this coffee machine. If you can afford such a luxury, then by all means, treat yourself or a friend to it. Or, if you own a business, get one for the office and you’ll be as popular as a rock star!
Below are some unedited notes I took that I intended to clean up for the review, but I think can be useful even without editing:
No conversion table from test strip reading which has 4 levels and the “aroma ring” setting on water filter which is marked A, B, C. Instructions aren’t clear which side goes up/down when Installing the water filter. The open end goes down. Installing is tricky because there is limited room to fit an adult male hand that far down onto the water tank. Once you get it aligned, it fits snugly and well. (There’s actually a tool included to help you install the water filter that makes it super easy to do)
The coffee maker is telling me (at the machine and on my phone via the Home Connect app) that the coffee maker REQUIRES a new water filter and a cleaning. The cleaning notification on the machine gives an estimated time of 35 minutes to complete the process. Depending on the type of cleaning, descaling tablets, a sample pack of which are included with original purchase. Additional packs (OEM and 3rd-party) are also available online with prices ranging in the $15-20 range for a kit.
There is not much detail to the cleaning notifications in the app other than a NOTIFICATION title and a date/time stamp. On the machine, there are options for different types of cleaning.
